Silver Newgrange Triskele Pendant
This silver Newgrange Triskele pendant is inspired by the megalithic art work at Newgrange (Brú na Bóinne in Gaelic), a Neolithic passage tomb built with precise astronomical alignment to the sun, over 5000 years ago. The art is one of the most remarkable features of the Newgrange monument. Some of it is a spectacular combinations of spirals, lozenges, chevrons, triangles and arrangements of parallel lines and arcs.
There are many theories as to the meaning of the carvings; the most popular representing the cycles of the sun.
The Triskele (triple spiral) is believed to represent the unity of the elements of earth; air, fire and water.
This Sterling silver Newgrange Triskele pendant is handmade in my workshop in Dublin, Ireland. This smooth, sleek design gives you a mix of old and new, as the Triskele hangs seamlessly from a heavyweight belcher chain using the concealed loop on the back.
