These Ogham cuff links are inspired by the ancient Ogham alphabet. Ogham is the earliest form of writing in Ireland, it dates back to the 4th Century. The Ogham alphabet is made up of a series of strokes across a central line. Ogham is also referred to as the Celtic tree alphabet as each character is linked to a tree. Ogham would have been etched on wooden post and stones. There are around 400 surviving standing stones, many of which can found throughout Ireland.
