Newgrange Triskele pendant
This Sterling silver Newgrange Triskele pendant is a unique design inspired by the megalithic art work at Newgrange (Brú na Bóinne in Gaelic), a Neolithic passage tomb, built over five thousand years ago with precise astronomical alignment to the sun.
The artwork is one of the most remarkable features of the Newgrange monument. Some of it is a spectacular combinations of spirals, lozenges, chevrons, triangles and arrangements of parallel lines and arcs.
There are many theories as to the meaning of the carvings; the most popular representing the cycles of the sun
The Triskele (triple spiral) is believed to represent the unity of the elements of earth; air, fire and water.
This long thin contemporary silver and gold Newgrange Triskele (triple spiral) pendant is inspired by the iconic 12 inch triple spiral inside the passageway at Newgrange. It hangs from a strong belcher chain.
It bears the full Irish hallmark from the Irish Assay Office in Dublin castle and stamped Made in Ireland.
